There was a time, not that long ago, when living a generally healthy lifestyle was not at issue. And when you didn’t feel quite right you would visit your doctor and strictly follow their orders. Gone are these days replaced by an obsession to live longer and blind allegiance to doctors orders no where in sight.

The good thing in all of this change is taking responsibility for our own health. The bad is information overload. So much is out there and where to begin is elusive.

As with the creation of anything, starting with the basics is a good bet. Same with lifestyle. If your road to your lifestyle has health detriment, then stop what you are doing and start over.

Unfortunately, emulating your parents may not be a healthy course of action. When life sped up with the intro of computers, movement and diet were sacrificed. Resulting in a sedentary fast food era hallmarked by an obesity epidemic.

The monster is a collective of each and every citizen. The solution is individual responsibility. Choice is inherent in us all. Today our lives are overwhelmed with choices and many being made to our own detriment.

Should you chose to live a healthy lifestyle this is an all encompassing decision. A total package of daily behaviors focused on feeling better toward the goal of feeling the best.

How you get to your goal can only be accomplished by knowing thyself. There is no other on this planet quite like you. Creation of your healthy lifestyle can only be mastered by you. And mastery begins with basics. You must lead yourself and not be led.
